Enterprise Agile Coach
David Grabel is an independent agile coach helping teams and enterprises adopt agile at the team and enterprise level. This includes collocated and distributed teams. He has introduced Scrum, Kanban, XP, and SAFe at both small and large organizations. He helped develop a process for integrating Lean UX design with Scrum delivery teams. This process was rolled out to 15 UX teams supporting over 100 delivery teams around the world. Recent clients include Trizetto, Bose, and PayPal. He is certified as CSM, CSP & SPC.He is also President of Agile New England, a non-profit group with over 1,200 members dedicated to accelerating the adoption of agile throughout the New England region. Agile New England sponsors monthly meetings as well as conferences such as Deep Agile and Agile Games. The Scrum Alliance sponsored Agile Games 2013 and 2014.A presentation by Jeff Sutherland at Boston SPIN painted a picture of Scrum embracing change without disrupting development and developers. This solution to the problem of changing requirements inspired Mr. Grabel to bring Scrum into Monetrics, a startup software company, in 2003. As scrum master and agile coach he helped spread agile methodologies into the parent company that had acquired the startup.He joined Monetrics in July, 2001 as Vice President of Engineering with an extensive background in leading software product development teams. Previous senior management positions include Vice President of Product Technology at Thomson Gale Group where he led applications development and technology delivery for search and online content delivery to over 40,000 schools and libraries. He was also Vice President of Development at Politzer & Haney where he led the development of the first web based cash management system for regional and money center banks. Mr. Grabel has an MS in Applied Math and Computer Science from Harvard and a Bachelors Degree (magna cum laude) in Applied Math from Columbia University. He has also done graduate course work in Computer Science at MIT and graduate studies in business and marketing at Bentley University.
